Afrox Fun Day - 27 July 2013

An Afrox Dart Fun Day was held on Saturday, 27 July 2013 in Windhoek and medals and cash prizes were won.

An estimated amount of N$3,500.00 was raised for the Namibia National Youth Team which will participate in August at the Zone VI 2013 Championships in Malawi.

The Namibia School Sports Union and the National Darts Convener for Youth, Mrs Katy O'Malley would like to thank players and spectators who participated at the darts fun day for their financial contributions and donations towards the travelling costs of the Namibia Youth Darts team.

Mr Adriaan van Rensberg, an ex-number one Namibia National Darts player, has offered to coach and train the U25 dart players for the 2014 Zone VI Championships to be held in Zimbabwe. Namibia Dart players and followers would like to thank him for his assistance and the time that he will be offering to our Namibian U25 players.

The Namibian Dart players and followers would like express their gratitude and convey their good wishes to both the Namibian Nampol Darts SARPCO teams participating at the 2014 SARPCO Games in Windhoek from the 19 - 30 August 2014. SARPCO, We, Namibian darts players, are proud of you and trust that Gold, Silver and Bronze medals won by both teams will flow through the streets of Windhoek!

19th Namibian Police Annual Darts Championships - 2013

NamPol Darts Championship, Windhoek

 

The 2013 NamPol Annual Darts Championship was held in Windhoek, Namibia from 20 - 28 April 2013.

Development Workshop II - Windhoek, April 2013

Darts Training Workshop, Namibia

 

Another development workshop was held in Windhoek, Namibia, at Ray-Mal Engineering's conference facility from 19 - 20 April 2013 by the Zone VI Confederation and the Namibia Dart Federation.

All regions were invited to attend, as well as corporate and tertiary institutions. These workshops will also be conducted in all other Zone VI countries, Namibia being the first to kick off. The intention is to encourage participation and development in these countries.

This workshop was attended by the dart clubs of the University of Namibia, the City of Windhoek, the Namibian Police Force, Afrox, CTC, officials from Zone VI Namibia and the coordinator of National Youth Development.

At the workshop a school in the Khomas region was adopted during a meeting. The adopted school is Dawid Bezuidenhoudt Secondary School and a cash donation was made by Mr. M. Khuppe for dart flights and accessories.

Special thanks go to the Namibian Dart Federation for sponsoring the event, the Zone VI President, Mr. Raymond O'Malley; the Zone VI Technical Director, Mr. Kassie Pretorius; the Zone VI Development Coordinator Mr. Ralph Ludwig, who is the current President of the Namibia Dart Federation; the Technical Assistant of Zone VI, Mr. Frans Husfieldt who is also the tournament director of Namibia, and the following people: Mrs. Kathy O' Malley, Mrs. Dianne Ludwig and Mrs. Mariaan Pretorius who all contributed to the success of the workshop.

It was a wonderful day for all who attended! The next development workshop will be held in Botswana in June 2013.
